Jim Havey grew up on Chicago’s “South Side,” eventually surviving 16 years of Catholic education with a degree in Political Science and Sociology from St. Ambrose College in Davenport, IA. Continuing west to Denver, Jim worked with troubled youth for seven years while developing a passion for photography and multi-image production into a new career with Havey Productions starting in 1979.
Domain – As president of HaveyPro Cinema, Jim’s territory includes producing, directing, photography/cinematography, script development, new project development …and dish washing.
A Colorado native, Nathan Church spent college amid the earthy aromas of the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, earning a degree in Visual Arts and Graphic Design. His journey from intern to business partner at HaveyPro began in 2001. Well versed in the full range of digital production from photography and cinematography to art direction, design and editing; Nathan’s skills bring the highest quality enhancements to every creative project.
Domain – A maestro of digital manipulation, Nathan composes beautiful sounds and images both in camera and on screen. His empire at HPC includes film editing, photo retouching and graphic, production & audio design …and schlepping.
Charlotte Havey, also a Colorado native, grew up in Greeley and doesn’t notice the fragrance from cattle and feedlots. Since the company’s inception in 1979, she has contributed her organizational skills, enthusiasm and commitment as HaveyPro Cinema’s CFO and biggest fan. In June 2010, Charlotte left a position as the Director of the Custer County Preschool to become a full-time member of the HaveyPro creative team. She and Jim met working in the judicial system and married soon after.
Domain – Charlotte oversees product marketing & distribution, accounting, Westcliffe studio management …and morale.
Alysha Burney returned to Denver following five years working for emerging non-profit organizations in Chicago. She has a BA in Performing and Visual Arts from the University of Northern Colorado where she developed an eye for art and a love of theater. Alysha started in the ‘biz’ at the ripe age of 5 modeling for commercial shoots and later holding reflectors like a boss.
Domain – A rising clone of Jim and Nathan in the camera and computer departments, Alysha is a task master who also works to streamline processes and support studio and production management …and sustainable food practices.
Blair Gawthrop Miller
Blair Miller landed in Colorado by way of Milan, Hong Kong, and L.A. Armed with a degree in French and Film from the University of Colorado, Boulder, she has journeyed from Script Supervisor to Director of Development for a public policy think-tank and graced the pages of Lands’ End as a model. Now with both children in school, Blair is thrilled to put her varied skills to use for Havey Pro Cinema.
Domain – HaveyPro’s secret weapon – Blair oversees project development, film premiere event management, forging new partnerships with the community… and puppy wrangling.
Jeff Jenkins is one of the region’s top jazz piano players whose talents include composing and performing for a variety of film and stage productions. Jeff is also an adjunct professor of music at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He has toured with major theatrical productions, played in jazz festivals throughout the US and Europe, and composed music for dozens of award-winning HaveyPro films for the past 15 years.
Domain – Jeff brings his creativity and musical expertise to each project composing brilliant scores that enhance the feeling and artistry of our films… and is our chief resident cappuccino drinker.
At age 6, Daniel Sharkey took piano lessons with Nathan Church’s younger brother. After high school, Daniel spent several years studying classical music composition with professors around the country, eventually returning to Colorado to complete a BFA in Film Production and a BA in English Creative Writing at University of Colorado, Boulder. He is obsessed with film, and will happily explain why you need to watch Michael Haneke and Pedro Almodóvar.
Domain – Editing, camera, lighting…whatever Jim demands.
